
Located in Oak Park’s Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District, this addition created a three-season room and outdoor living space designed for family gatherings. A stone terrace with a double-sided fireplace anchors the space beneath a mature catalpa tree. The design blends seamlessly with the century-old home, preserving its historic character through matching materials and architectural details.

This South Oak Park renovation transformed a former two-flat into a light-filled single-family home with an expanded master suite, open-concept kitchen, and custom woodwork throughout. Klancic Architecture reimagined the space across all three levels, including a media room, home office, and rear pergola. The project’s award-winning kitchen earned “Best in Show” at the 2010 Parenthesis Kitchen Walk.

Set in the rolling hills of North Carolina, this newly built Arts and Crafts-style home is designed for both beauty and function. The layout centers around a light-filled living and kitchen area, with a primary suite on one side and guest rooms on the other. A raised deck and screened porch overlook the natural landscape, while a flexible bonus space above the garage offers room for work or guests.

This west River Forest home features a thoughtful addition overlooking the Cook County Forest Preserve, expanding the kitchen and adding a new primary suite. A covered porch and stone terrace create a welcoming outdoor gathering space. Exterior updates include stucco finishes, new windows, and roofing. The project earned a 2009 River Forest Historic Preservation Award and was featured in the 2008 Parenthesis Kitchen Walk.
This South Oak Park remodel reimagines a cramped, early-20th century kitchen plagued by excessive doors and windows. By expanding into underused adjacent spaces, the new kitchen gains function and flow, while the original kitchen becomes a cozy reading room. Thoughtful upgrades include a relocated back entry, improved stair access, and enhanced storage—all seamlessly integrated into the home’s historic character.

This central Oak Park remodel transforms a small kitchen into a spacious, multifunctional hub by relocating the Dining Room and reworking the first-floor layout. The new design includes an open eat-in kitchen, a practical entry vestibule and drop-zone, and a discreetly relocated Powder Room. Thoughtful features like multiple work zones, ample storage, and an island for gathering make this kitchen the heart of the home.
